Mobile Signal Booster

Has anyone found a mobile signal booster that is reliable?

 

I've spent the last few days trying to source a booster, and wouldn't you know....The only 2 I can find, and neither company wants to answer the phone OR email, so I'm a little bit fed up!

 

Has anyone found anything like this for 1000m2?

 

Here are the 2 I've found so far....

 

High powered O2 and Vodafone mobile phone signal booster

 

Large 900mhz 1000m2 - £179.99 : gsmmobilesignalbooster.co.uk

 

Same model, but do they want the business? Seems not from their reluctance to make contact!!!

Does anyone know if there is a T-Mobile (EE) or 02 version of this booster?

 

As far as I am aware, the mobile operators can sell these and they are legal but the ones sold by other suppliers are not all legal to use.

I'm on O2...but this is correct....as I've just found out!

My aunt had a couple of guys in suits knock on her door a couple of weeks ago who flashed her IDs and asked to come in all officially. One went upstairs while the other explained that their signal boosters were blocking out signal for the whole area. She was pretty shaken and said she wished she hadn't opened the door to which their reply was "We would've busted it down anyway, we've got a warrant to enter".

 

Nothing ultimately came of it since she was (conscientiously) innocent, she had no idea they were illegal as you can pick them up all over the place but yeh... moral of the story is that if you don't want ofcom kicking your door down get an "official" one or more importantly, don't get an iPhone

There is. It's called the O2 BoostBox and costs ~£150.

 

Alternatively you could wait until O2 release their TuGo smartphone app and then you can make phone calls over WiFi.

I'd recommend the O2 boostbox or the Vodafone Suresignal. They are femtocells so you need a broadband conenction to get them working but they are easy to use and quite reliable.

Not sure if it is specific to T-Mobile or Orange, but just had my Everything Everywhere public sector update which included this

Does Viber allow you to call people who don't have the app installed? That's what TuGo will enable you to do.

Thanks for posting this! I had almost given up waiting for Orange to release a femtocell of their own. They are the last network to release one.

 

I am going to try and get the Office Signal Box's little brother since my signal is non-existent at home.

 

Btw, Three also have a femtocell (called the Home Signal) which looks very similar to the one sold by EE. They are probably made by the same company?

Every iPhone I've seen has signal problems! Every single one on all different networks. 3 friends all replaced blackberries (which are turd anyway) with iPhones and all had lack of signal!

its not just iphones its smartphones in general my old nokia gets a far better signal than any smartphone ive ever used/compared it against

You probably already know this, but O2's TuGo app is now available.
