Issue connecting to admin$ share

I've got a random bunch of machines which are behaving oddly.

 

Basically, if I connect to \\ICT1-18\admin$ from my desktop with my username (which is a Domain Admin) it works fine. If I try to connect using the normal 'Administrator' account, it fails with an 'Unexplained error' 0x80004005.

 

I will be changing the account this software uses to do this anyway, but I also want to fix whatever underlying issue is causing this.

 

So, any thoughts what is causing this issue?

 

In a suite of 34 identical machines, bought at the same time, on the same VLAN, imaged on the same day using the same image, half don't work properly...
