GNewnham Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 We are looking for a facility for parents to book their own meetings with teachers for parents evenings. Is there a system which your school is using which works particularly well? Which MIS do you use and how is the pupil/teacher/subject information maintained for meeting bookings? Thanks for looking!
number34 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Here we use SIMs backed up by INSIGHT as the parents' portal. INSIGHT has the parents evening functionality but we have not used it yet. Perhaps someone here can give some feedback on it to help both of us? 1
GREED Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Have a look at these guys: Parents Evening System - Online Parents Evening Software I used their earlier system RoomBookingSystem it is very easy and works great. Believe they integrate with SIMS too. 3
FragglePete Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Another +1 for PES - we've moved over to it recently. Parents love it, teachers not so much at first but it has saved a lot of work for the admin staff. We were using SIMS for Parents Evening but Capita seemed to have abandoned all support for it - when it went Bang with no decent turnaround on getting it fixed we had to look at something else pronto. Support is excellent; very quick and they monitor feedback messages from parents also and pitch in with a reply to help the parent directly if need be. They'll let you run one evening as a freebie as well. Only down side is that they put the price up recently, thankfully we got it on the old price but it'll look expensive next year. Pete 2
zag Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) Tasc insight does this and its pretty good. Also a +1 for the PES if its half as good as their roombookingsystem then it must be ok. Edited January 24, 2013 by zag 2
vikpaw Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 If you're a schoolcomms user they too have an offering that links in with another system with the benefit you communicate via schoolcomms. 3
GNewnham Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Many thanks, everyone. I am having a look at PES now.
andyturpie Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Many thanks, everyone. I am having a look at PES now. We have used Room Booking System by these guys for 3 or 4 years now, the staff love it. Marcus and the team behind were excellent at helping us tailor it to our needs, so another plus 1 here 1
