Windows Server 2003 R2 Schema Extension

I need to add a Server 2003 R2 member server to the domain. Am I right to assume that I don't need to extend the schema if I don't want it to a) be a DC, b) use DFS, c) use ID man for Unix, or d) use deployed printers as per here?

 

Also, has anyone applied the R2 schema extension to a domain used by CC3?
