MkII Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 ..as in: Internet Options > General Tab > Browsing History "Settings" Button > "check for newest versions of the page" ..to a whole site?
ZeroHour Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 As in say tell IE that the pages on your intranet expire instantly when viewed and not to use the cache? If so what webserver you got?
MkII Posted July 11, 2007 Author Posted July 11, 2007 only one page, on one website, not all websites. Suspect it's only possible in the proxy somewhere? Of course users could just press Ctrl + F5..
Kained Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 add the following to your page that should instruct the browser not to cache the page
srochford Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Some browsers don't always play properly (and some web servers also have problems). One of the things we've done for a lot of pages is to generate links that inlcude a random number; this way the page request is seen as being for a new page each time - ie the link looks something like: http://server.domain.tld/page.asp?param=.12345
Geoff Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 The above techniques also work for proxies, which also cache pages. Well, Squid at any rate. I'm not sure what fun and games ISA gets up to.
ZeroHour Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Isa can be told pages not to cache and you can override the pages policy I think. Its pretty straight forward to do as well.
