pbad Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Hi I am currently trialling Impero and I am having one specific problem. If the Impero client is installed on a PC, then activinspire takes a very long time to open. Impero only seems to affect activinspire. All other programs work without any problems. If the Impero client is uninstalled then activinspire opens as normal. I changed the appdata redirection to "redirect to local user profile location" and activinspire opens as normal with the Impero client installed on the PC. However when I change the appdata redirection back to normal, activinspire goes back to opening very slowly. I am using the latest version of Impero (installed on Windows Server 2003 R2) and I am using Windows 7 Professional for the client PCs. I have contacted Impero support and they are working on how to fix the problem. Has anybody else had issues with Impero and activinspire? Any help would be appreciated?
ful56_uk Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I've seen this here. What have Impero said? We redirect the appdata folder to there my docs on the network
Sylv3r Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 We've always noticed ACTIVInspire taking a while to move on from the splash screen but soon speeds up to normal once this disappears whether we have the impero client installed or not. Im interested in reading about the redirecting the Appdata folder - so will give that a try, Thanks.
russdev Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Hi I know support been looking into this as been out the office not sure where things are. However interesting comment from @Sylv3r that does suggest activinspire is causing the problem. Once support guys finished will update the thread etc.. Russell
walkermescc Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Have been investigating this with my colleagues, the appdata idea sound like it will work , we have been looking at excluding certain files from being injected from impero. This was meant to work , at the present time it seems to not be working. Have also bee looking a some of the .ini files to see if we can redirect the appdata using this. Please if anyone has any ideas. We have also found logging into the computer and local administrator works fine. 1

If on on about Impero exclude injection should be working no problem but if Pm your details can take a look. Have to add to Impero server exe names only and can't use wild cards etc. Russell
walkermescc Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Hey Guys, This was a really silly fix but you have to change one of the file names, I believe it was an Impero file but could be active inspire, all I remember it had tools within the name. Change it to what every you fell it should be named and this should resolve your issues. I will ask one of my old colleagues as he has the article we made on it and will post the location of it. -- _________________________ Kind Regards, Vincent Walker ICT Support Engineer ClickOn IT London Ltd t: 0845 094 1005 f: 0845 094 1006 @: [email protected] w: www.clickonitlondon.co.uk Follow us on Twitter @ClickOnITLondon Find us on Facebook.com/ClickOnITLondon http://clickonitlondon.co.uk/images/headerlogo_Orig.png THINK! russdev Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Just a word warning this not really a fix as that exe plays quite major role and so renaming will cause "dragons to appear" within the software. This issue caused by Activinspire as issue can crop up even if not got Impero installed. Russell
