How can we set up a time lapse video, all I currently have is a Microsoft Lifecam webcam and a laptop.

We have a new building going up soon and we would like to time lapse the erecting of it.

Quite a few ways to do it with Linux, but not looked at it for a couple of years. Not much help I know, but gives you an avenue to look down

Tilaphos (other software exists), £20 webcam, old (xp) laptop.

Ended up with 50,000 photos and counting. Using a linux box + jhead + mencoder to make sense of them (rename to date-time, convert to avi).

You can use a Raspberry Pi - this chap: time lapse | Raspberry Pi built his own rig to move the camera along a track over a length of time, but I'm sure his explanaion will cover making a basic non-moving system, too.
