Hi All

I am having some trouble with the hotspot service on a Ruckus ZD1100. We have it set up so that a pupil or Teacher can connect to a hotspot service, called "Activate". Once connected it will automatically redirect your browser to a Ruckus page witch asks for login.

Now comes the problem. When I try to put a macbook trough this "activation" proses it does not display the ruckus page. Safari freezes. It loads up about half way and then just stops, no errors, just a blank page. I tested it on a few different browsers but no luck. I even tried typing the IP in manually but it has the same problem.

The hotspot service works perfectly fine on all other devices (ipad, iphone, android, windows) it even works on earlier of OSX (10.6 and earlier).

I was just wondering if somebody else is experiencing the same problem or know how to fix it.

@Destinova we are running 9.4.0.0 build 110. Are you on the same version?

I think it is a OS problem rather than a ruckus problem. I upgraded a working mac to 10.8.2 and it stopped working.

I have a ticket n with Ruckus support so lets see what they say.

9.5.0.0.156

They fixed the issues with 10.8.2 in December (that version).

Great thanks. Upgraded to 9.4.2.0 build 29 last night and the issue persists so 9.5 might be our only option. Have you had any issues with that code version as we have been advised against it for now due to a couple of bugs?

Sorry I was mistaken. We're actually running 9.4.2.0 build 29. We had been testing the DPSK self-activation back in October and had issues with OSX 10.8.1. The provisioning file would fail with an Applescript error. Ruckus at the time admitted a known issue with 10.8.1 and kept the ticket open until they sent us a beta release of 9.4.2.0 build 29. Prior to that OSX was updated to 10.8.2 and the issue persisted.

The 9.4.2.0 build 29 version resolved the Applescript error and everything works on Safari and OSX 10.8.2 for us. The only "error" is a security warning for the activation page certificate because it's a cert issued by our Active Directory Cert. Services and the MacBook isn't a domain member so it does not trust the cert.

The machine we're testing on is a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.2.
