Hi all,

As the title suggests, does anyone have any experience with this?

SLT decided to purchase themselves iPads against all my grumbling and eye rolling.

I cannot get any of them to see a printer on the network through this app, none of them 'discover' it and when adding the ip address manually, it says it cannot connect to the device.

Kyocera TASKalfa 5550ci KX on Server 2008 as print server, wireless connection on ipads OK.

P.S. Business manager brought his Android tablet in and we connected it using the android version of the app in a matter of minutes...

Fingerprint (which you install on the server) has worked for iPads on Kyocera printers. Makes it appear as an AirPrint printer to the iPads. Think it costs a couple of quid, but you should be able to get a trial version to check it works.

Is the printer on a different VLAN to the iPads? Bonjour doesn't work across subnets* so this could be where you are having problems.

(*Unless you have another bit of kit like the Aerohive Bonjour Gateway)

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies.

Yes, we are all VLAN here I think (printers are on different subnet).

Do I take it that means Fingerprint will not work as it uses Bonjour technology?

When I tried it, all relevant devices were on the same vLAN. We're not using here iPADs atm, so haven't got it running. I'll check around and see if I can find out how others have it set up.
