chazzy2501 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I've not asked the SWGFL for the transparent proxy. (didn't need it) I've noticed this just today on my win8 and win7 machines. I cleared the proxy settings (was testing DA on windows 8 only!) and my PCs can surf the web. The login.staffproxy does not work. (without the staffproxy being specified) How do i discover what proxy server I'm using without looking inside IE? This is brand new behaviour anyone getting this?
chazzy2501 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) and it's unfiltered! Update: Youtube works but facebook does not. The swgfl admin filtering page is not accessable. I'm told that the transparent proxy would obey my filter settings, so it's not likely to be that? Edited January 4, 2013 by chazzy2501
Geoff Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If the proxy you are going through is being nice it should identify itself on the HTTP headers it sends to websites. Therefore you can inspect the headers on special websites setup to tell you what you're asking of them. xhaus.com: HTTP header check 1
chazzy2501 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Well, at least this means it's not rouge software or a rouge device. Result: 1.0 proxy01.swgfl.ifl.net:8080 (squid)
TheScarfedOne Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I do wish SWGFL would stop playing with things without telling people.... Im all for developments, dont get me wrong - but its back to the old consult users, and keeping us informed with maintenance etc.

What did I miss?
Boredguy Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If you use the basic Safetynet Plus filtering solution from the grid, you can get a transparent proxy enabled for your BYOD kit Click here for the blurb from the SWGfL website that was sent out back in October via their mailing lists
