New printer required for busy sixth form study - HP M602N possible?

I am on the lookout for a new printer for our refurbished sixth form study, particularly as it's approaching coursework mad printing season!

I'm a big fan of HP laserjets, and would ideally like an HP4015 but they seem to be discontinued now... but I've been suggested an HP Enterprise 600 M602N Laser as an alternative, with a 24k page yield toner option available.

Has anyone got experience of this model, or can suggest anything that's efficient in costs to run?

Thanks

Hi

I would use photocopiers on contract pay by the click. The maintenance company are responsible for repairs. If you have really high lprint loads get two and pool them.

Find a good local print management solutions company near you and ask for advice.

Totally agree with what Richard said above. The HP machines I no longer find fit for purpose and we go through them like nobody's business in our place.

You could do as I do and buy refurbished HP LaserJets, I get 4200s from ICT-Direct and they are brilliant units and robust, modern HP Lasers are nothing like the predecessors.

The refurbished 4200 is an idea I'll look into - thanks! We have a large number of 4200s, and even a few 4000's here, and I agree - one of the best printers you can get.

I would rather not go down the photocopier road as that could lead to additional responsibilities for all photocopying here lol!

I would suggest a good photocopier too you can choose from a good range of work horses that should last years and get a maintenance contract to look after you if your not already with one?, with the new ones you can link up to the network so you can limit who does what and where. Winning!

All inclusive machines for 4p per colour click, no lease rental, no upfront purchase costs, everything all in. This includes all servicing, toners etc. We have just utilised this within our new IT suites and it works wonders. Hope this helps.

In other words that's a TVRP you can have whatever you want as long as you do the minimum amount

Bit suspicious over these TVRP deals as they often have a lease hidden in there somewhere, annual increases, over estimated minimum monthly billing and a 5yr tie in !

Or have i become cynical :bowl:

I agree i would recommend anyone taking one on to review it fully in detail before sign anything and shop around to get the best deal
