speckytecky Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I need to install IE7 on our SIMS Admin server, what do I need to do to make IE7 and SIMS work in harmony please?
Jeremy69 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Nothing as far as I know. We have IE7 on most machines with SIMS and no problems have arisen (touch wood).
Sylv3r Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I can't think why SIMS would break with IE7, but you never know when it comes to SIMS!
speckytecky Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Thanks for the answers Jeremy69 and Sylv3r. Reassuring that you have it running without problems. I'm still an L plate techie so am treading carefully. A few months ago we had a new machine for a second admin point and after initial set up (adding MS Office and patches etc) a Capita technician visited and installed SIMS. I know that at that time there were compatibility issues with IE7 and SIMS and as IE7 had come in and installed as part of the MS updates he needed to make a few tweaks to ensure smooth running. Like a twit I forgot to make a note of the changes he made!
Ric_ Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 @speckytecky: IIRC *ALL* my admin machines have IE7 on them. I don't seem to have any problems and I have not 'tweaked' anything to make it work. Again.... this doesn't really help you much. Maybe try the Capita 'fix'.... delte SIMS and reinstall it on the client.
Heebeejeebee Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 All of our machines with SIMS have IE7. I think the main compatability issue is with Office 2007. HBJB
