Password Reset Keychain question

If a student changes their password in AD and then goes and uses a mac that they have used before it asks them about changing the password in the keychain but it won't accept their new or old password so just click continue to ignore it but it will pop back every time they login. Does any one know way of stopping this from popping up?

The "Create New Keychain" option is the one you want to use. That should create a new login keychain with the updated password and should stop the message re-appearing each login.

"Create New Keychain" will work if your students do not use their keychain to store passwords. If they use their keychain, they will need to update their keychain instead. Their old password should be used to do this. If it does not work, the most likely reason is that they do not remember their old password.

i will give this ago when im back in next week as i believe one of my accounts throws up a keychain prompt.

A quick way is to simply delete /Users/**username**/Library/Keychains

 

When I build my images I have a script that runs to clean up the computer so it's ready for new users and by deleting this folder it will just create a new one when the user logs back in. You can delete it from the keychain but this will work as well.

Get them to click Create New Keychain.

 

Or go in to Keychain Access and delete the old Keychains.
