One_Minute_Hero Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 We were recently taken ownership of 20 ipads for student use (wooohooo grunt) at the moment i am stuck as to how to securely configure these. our wireless connects via radius, and smoothwall requires authentication too. i dont want the kids logging into these devices as then they will know how to and bring their own ipads etc in. I am looking into apple configurator but understand we need a mac to run it on. at present i want to be able to lock down the wireless settings, contact, calendar. TBH i dont know why they are needed we run a one laptop per child, but laser etching the case was fun!!! how have others managed achieve a secure solution
TechieWils Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 You could look at meraki, a free website for managing a number of devices. I had mixed feelings about it but does restrictions. Failing that iTunes and creating a master iPad and backup then restore it to another iPad. I'm sure I've seen some guides about it somewhere on here.
