smarties11 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Hi All, We are looking at offering a tablet leasing scheme to our sixth form students. Ideally, we don't want to standardise or 'force' a particular product on our students, although I understand that many schools do this with Apple as the exclusivity gives them better discounts. We'd like to offer students the choice of an Android, iOS or Windows 8 tablet - I was wondering if any other schools are doing something similar, and whether they can recommend any leasing companies for me to approach? We have guest Wi-Fi in place and students are already bringing in their own devices - we're just looking to bridge the gap, and allow students and parents to purchase/lease tablets which are fully warranted and insured for accidental damage etc. Thanks!
Ryan233 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I used to work at a school who did this with these Sixth Form Students. There offered Ipad or a samsung Galaxy. I think there used a company called Square Group. Im not 100% Sure tho. I basically think there had to put a depoist down first to reserve one and then go from there. I was not really involved much. I just had to configure them.
smarties11 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Thanks Ryan - I will give them a call!
twin--turbo Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Too many pitfalls and associated costs for us to consider it as viable. Rob
Sylv3r Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 We've done similar schemes with parental contributions via Fully flexible finance solutions from Syscap

GrumbleDook Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 In my last place we used Syscap on our laptop scheme and it allows you to be vendor agnostic. Apple do a scheme directly, or you can get it via an ASE / AASP such as Square, KRCS, Solutions Inc, etc.
