EES - School network and managed network

We're looking at EES and I've been reading the MS info on the license terms and some of the threads here but haven't seen this come up. It is all down to Full time equivalent staff who use a desktop. Now we have 2 networks here an externally managed one that we have to have a certain amount of machines on and it's used by admin and all staff, we also have our own network which is used only by Teaching staff and students. Has anyone else looked into this kind of setup. The managed machines have licenses independent of the EES license we are considering taking for the machines on our own network. Would licensing based on number of full time employees who will have an account on and use that network?

Currently based on the number of staff who perform over 200? hours work per annum, minus the groundsmen and canteen staff and cleaners etc. HR department should be able to supply you with this info. The number of workstations or how your network is configured should not be taken into consideration (as far as i'm aware). Edited November 27, 2012 by andyturpie

If the PCs are all on your site, I don't think it matters which network they are on. Your EES cost is calculated based on the number of staff who use the computers, not the type/config of computers they use.

Unless those staff use computers AT ANY TIME during the year. Our maintenance staff use computers quite frequently, so we have to count them anyway, but we also have to count peri music staff who spend 99.9% of their time in practical lessons without computers but then spend a few hours each year writing reports.
