apeo Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Im trying to install Printer Manager on my server but it just refuses to do it. What i tried to do is add the role of Print Server but it comes up with an error saying it failed to install printer server, try doing it manually via add/remove. I did and it installed the Printer Manament Component and it still doesnt have the role or the mmc snapin. What am i missing?

Oops_my_bad Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Sorry if this is stupid, but when you installed R2 did you use an R2 key? If you just use a standard 2003 key with R2 media, it will just install 2003 normal.
plexer Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 When you install R2 from R2 media the first disk is just a normal 2003 server install disk anyway. The second disk just has the extra features of R2 on it. Ben
apeo Posted July 4, 2007 Author Posted July 4, 2007 Yes i installed R2.. actual R2 aswell as 2003 and yes i have installed other features that did install fine. I havent tried installing R2 again, i may have to give that a try. EDIT: Just out of interest, are R2 features available in Add/Remove if you didnt install R2. I didnt think it was, and the additional features R2 gives only show up on the Add/Remove after you install R2.
