Am i missing something blatently obvious. Thanks for all help Gary
ChrisMiles Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Try running the following command on one of the XP machines and see if you get a response: nslookup -type=srv _VLMCS Response should be something like: Server: dc1.domain.local Address: 10.2.3.4 avonbourne.local primary name server = dc1.domain.local responsible mail addr = hostmaster.domain.local serial = 489599 refresh = 900 (15 mins) retry = 600 (10 mins) expire = 86400 (1 day) default TTL = 900 (15 mins)
chazzy2501 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) you can use VAMT and do a proxy authenticate through your managment PC. EDIT: Sorry KMS can't proxy authenticate but you can still specify the server address and port. Edited November 21, 2012 by chazzy2501
localzuk Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Try running the following command on one of the XP machines and see if you get a response: nslookup -type=srv _VLMCS Response should be something like: Server: dc1.domain.local Address: 10.2.3.4 avonbourne.local primary name server = dc1.domain.local responsible mail addr = hostmaster.domain.local serial = 489599 refresh = 900 (15 mins) retry = 600 (10 mins) expire = 86400 (1 day) default TTL = 900 (15 mins) If this command doesn't work (it didn't for me), try this one: nslookup -q=SRV _VLMCS._TCP
