Honda inbuilt GPS. Map updates?

sister has a Honda with inbuilt GPS system but the maps are about 6 years out of date.

 

Is there an update CD or something that can be bought?

normally you buy them from a honda dealer. its usually a cd /dvd

Oh man I learned something today.

All of the car manufacturers seem to charge a serious amount of money & their maps are generally out of date vs TomTom & other PNDs.

The last time I looked a couple of years ago they charged around £250 to update it. It was cheaper to upgrade my car at the time

Must admit my VW SatNav (which is very handy due to built in Traffic Monitoring and advice) is terribly out of date in parts, that is a Navman disk and it was something like £250 for a new one from VW, a tip on owners forums is go to eBay you will find loads of ones that are probably newer than that one you can use instead that others have had and scrapped as they bought the latest one (company car drivers seem common sellers as there office must send them a new one and not want the old one back so they sell them)
