Thanks for this post, I've got a Buy Leatherman Squirt ES4 Keychain Tool (Red) | Leatherman Multi-Tools, Knives & Flashlights | Leatherman-Tools.co.uk in LEATHERMAN SQUIRT > and you reminded me that I'd left it in the front office when I was doing a job. I'd be gutted if I lost it. (Thinking about it, someone could well be gutted if a pupil found it!) :)

Thats why I dont use the lovely multi tool that I had here last year in our secret santa, too much of a headache/minefield, should I leave it anywhere

With this are you not classed as "going equipped"?

Even more so if you have a leatherman on your belt, don't forget that you should be carrying a leatherman or similar tool with a blade whilst not at work or without having godo reason to be carrying it.

The monkey has no sharp blades, ok yes it does have a section on it which they've designed for "slipping" locks but that isn't going to work with most uk doors.

Being stopped in a shopping centre and arrested for carrying one would not be fun and you can't say "oh I forgot I had it or I need it for work" as you're not at work or travelling to work.

I don’t think I would be allowed to carry a Leatherman for work purposes anyway + I would be too worried about leaving it somewhere and it being acquired by students Edited by JJonas

I have something very similar (no "kickstand" slot) I picked up from eBay a while back.

She eventually got a black Wave of some sort - so thanks to everyone who responded.

I have queried it, it's often sat on my desk with the blade out, or used in lessons. The concensus seems to be "we're trusted not to be insane or idiotic". Fair comment, given that we're also entrusted with CCTV, LAN, Staff data areas, e-mails and everything else too.

Yes, the blades on mine lock. The only person who's tried to confiscate it is our deputy site manager, who is an ex-sargeant major and has a love for leatherman, which apparently is "standard issue" for soldiers? He just said (with a grin), "they're too hardcore for novices"..bless him.. ;)
