For those of you who have donated towards this cause, I just again would like to thank you!.. Megan has had a pretty good couple of weeks, but unfortunately is ill again this week.. thought I might share a comment she made recently!.. feeling quite down at the moment bless her

 

Fed up now ill yet again seems to happen every 2 weeks really doing my head in now had enough, its been a really crap year chest infection after chest infection, in and out of hospital,just hope its gone before Christmas, and next years much better,so i can enjoy myself with my family for once! Love u all thanks for all you do for me <3 When people moan about going to work and school and stuff u should just take a minute to realise how lucky u are xx

Megan went into hospital this morning, and they are keeping her in now (not sure how long) but is on the High Dependency Unit (HDU)... :-( hope she can be home for Christmas (fingers crossed)

I am just looking after the younger kids at the moment whilst her mum & dad are with her at the hospital, really hoping she can recover during this week and be home for Christmas too... Just saw some pictures of her having cuddles, such a shame for her makes me rather sad

It's a charity that specialises in helping to get disabled children mobile. I've only just remembered it. I had a girl in my Guide unit a few years ago who was helped by them and we did a lot of fund raising for this charity.

It's a charity that specialises in helping to get disabled children mobile. I've only just remembered it. I had a girl in my Guide unit a few years ago who was helped by them and we did a lot of fund raising for this charity.

 

I have not personally heard of that to be honest, but I will be sure to mention it to my sister tomorrow when I see her! THANK YOU Elsiegee.

The hardest thing i had to do this year was see my 14 year old daughter in intensive care.

The operation was a success though.

Megan is not doing too bad at the moment (touch wood) things seem to be okay, and she should be getting her new wheelchair soon! to which i will post up some information on it when I find out... Thanks again for all of your donations, that with what we donated from the charity night has gone a long way in helping us achieve the goal...

It's still in process of being sorted for some reason these things seem to take ages to sort out. Unfortunately she has been in hospital for the past few weeks as she is not very well again (missed all of the sunshine which was annoying) I am not even sure when she will be out, but I believe they are going to try something but they haven't said what yet but what ever it is they are thinking they think will improve her ability to breath on her own with out oxygen.

For those of you that have wanted to be kept up to date, megan went into hospital today for an operation (i think it's called a Laryngectomy) where by she has had a whole made in her neck *throat* which should allow her to breath better, and not have to keep wearing the mask (oxygen) every moment of the day so she can try and live a bit more normal, the replacement wheel chair i have heard is now in progress of being sorted out i believe they are waiting on some company to sort things out and it's just takes so much time.

 

The operation went well, and she is now in hospital and will for for quite a few months now whilst she recovers.

Hi,

 

We are still waiting for the other funding to be arranged, we managed to raise 4,000 between various different events but the wheelchair that she requires is around 9k if I remember correctly and so when the other 60% of the funding Is arranged then she will get the wheelchair.

 

To give you an update on her current health, due to the amount of times she has to keep being in hospital due to catching an infection etc. she has agreed to have a tracheostomy and she had the operation around 10 weeks ago now and has been in hospital since recovering. This will help her breath much easier without having to wear a mask every day and will also reduce the risk of catching further infections going forward. I won't go into too much detail on here as it's public, but basically she is going to be in hospital up until at least Christmas as she still needs to be monitored, her home needs to be adapted for the extra complex equipment and her parents need to find her a FULL TIME Carer as she will need this level of care now for the rest of her life due to the amount of work that is involved to maintain the tracheostomy equipment on a day - day basis it is shocking for me to see myself, I did not realise so much was required to look after her now going forward.

 

ON a positive note, you may wish to read this article. Megan is Pictured in the main image with the Band whom are currently auditioning for XFactor. They visited Birmingham Children's Hospital Last Week. X Factor band hit the right note at Birmingham Children
