hit Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 It was an extension piece of homework for the half term, a bit of fun that gets you thinking. The homework that is normally set can be pretty vigorous from his school and I usually like to pick it up to refresh my memory.

witch Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 In Irish schools that would work Or in the Caribbean. I used to go out with a guy from Trinidad and I used to tease him all the time - asking questions that had the answer "three threes" or "three trees" just to hear him say "tree trees"! I didnt really see the point of the homework initially but explaining that the children will think of words that mean the same as minus, take away, etc makes more sense. One of our teachers was trying to explain to a child that minus and take-away and difference between are the same things - he always adds up unless it says minus, and his answer was.. "what can I say, I'm an adding kind of guy!" He's 10 1
Earthling Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 How about VIIIPLUSI ? Cool, but treads a fine line with the rules.......No symbols.
