Moodle enrolment question

Hi!

We are using Moodle 2 for our school website, and the head has asked if its possible to setup an Alumni page where ex students could leave messages/posts regarding how they are doing etc etc.

 

I like the idea, but I am worried without some sort of 'checks' or special enrolment that the page will be spammed etc.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to automate the process a little to allow genuine alumni students to post, rather than the page getting covered in rubbish?

 

The only other way I can think of would be to let students enter information into a basic web form, leaving email details to which we could contact them back?

 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You could have a sign up form and verify details either against your MIS, if the names still on there, or email them back, yes.

 

Not sure how else you could manage it to be honest. It'd have to be manual verification if you wanted verification at all.
