flyinghaggis Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) In anticipation of Halo4 being released I was going to get myself a wi-fi adapter for my xbox but I've been checking a couple of places and they all want around £60 for the thing! Maybe I'm being a skin flint but i steadfastly refuse to pay £60 for a wifi USB stick that probably cost them under a fiver to manufacture Hell, it would be more cost effective to sell my xbox and buy a new one with the wi-fi built in than pay for the adapter (maybe that's MS's plan!). Is there anywhere I can get it cheaper or can anyone recommend any of the 3rd party alternatives? Edited October 17, 2012 by flyinghaggis

Not when I tried when I got my original elite. Not sure if they changed but only way I got elite to work was with proper adapter, or wireless router/extender etc

You do know Gamestation are offering trade in on the old xbox for the new halo 4 ones. I saw the offer earlier in store. 20GB xbox (with 2 controllers) gets you £50 off. 60GB xbox (with 2 controllers) gets you £60 off. 120GB xbox (with 2 controllers) gets you £75 off. 4GB xbox slim (with 2 controllers) gets you £140 off. 250GB xbox slim (with 2 controllers) gets you £180 off. New halo console comes with 320GB and halo skin, 2 controllers in halo style, halo 4 and a pre-order bonus for £299.

Hope so....!

No need for wiring and cheaper too Cheap Laptops, Computers and Cheap LCD TVs | Ebuyer.com That's what I do, I'm in a rented property so trunking is out of the question (mainly because I CBA doing it when I'll probably move again in a few months!) so powerline/homeplug adapters are a great compromise. I use the TD-Link ones, they're dirt cheap and I've never had a problem with them.

I had the same one and it red ringed about the same time once a year. It will probably be worth just getting the 250GB version. Don't bother with the 4GB, once you connect to XBL it takes up most of this memory. When i worked in game (About 2 yr ago) your system was worth about £80 with 1 controller and all the bits etc. It is probably valued less now so if you are looking to save some money, trade it in sooner rather than later if your looking to upgrade.

I've had it pretty much since launch (2006?)and it RROD'd about 2 years after I bought it. It's been fine since they repaired it though . I'm kind of at the point now where I'm hoping it will last until MS bring out the next xbox 720 in another year or two To that end, I've ordered the Datel Wireless N adapter for £35 from an Amazon marketplace reseller.
