Kyocera FS 3900DN Call for service 7410: 0080226

I've got an error message on our Kyocera Printer Call for service 7410: 0080226. Apparently 7410 indicates an error with the drum unit and the rest is a page count. My question is do I need a new drum unit (and is that the problem) or can I just remove and reinsert the existing drum to clear the error?

Sounds like the drum has come out a little bit.

 

Check where the waste toner bottle is, and if it's like the FS2000, the drum unit can be pushed back in from where the bottle attaches to it.

 

Error should then go when you close the lid back down.

Very long time since I changed one on a Kyo, probably 5 years ago.

 

It's not cheap so consider if it's worthwhile as it may not fix it and something else may break soon.

Will check the resetting option first and then pass it over if it's not fixed to consider a replacement.
