Library system that isn't eclipse?

I'm annoyed at how much time I have wasted trying to get support for eclipse this term. The LRB manager is too, so now we are looking at alternatives. Can anyone recommend a library system for secondary schools?

Access-IT Access-It Library and Resource Manager

 

Runs on practically anything and has been quite robust for us. Support is good too.

We have nothing but issues with it as well, their current line is "well if you upgrade to eclipse.net" well we wont so just support the software we are paying for!

 

I'll be interested to see the other options myself. Something without a client that has to be installed would be wonderful!

I have a working system now but it did take a good three hours over three sessions plus 90 minutes remote access to fix it. It was an AD issue which I did mention in the original support ticket but was only spotted 15 minutes from the end of the remote support!

That's such a shame - I have always had brilliant support from them and can do nothing but praise them. At the end of last term we had a huge issue will all non-authored books suddenly being stated as being by Michael Morpurgo and they spent a very long time trying to sort out the issue for us.

We have gone to eclipse.net - our own choice, and it is working really well

You do have to admit it is a bit long in the tooth now. It is run on an Access database with DAO calls! I wouldn't be surprised if they retired it soon. Had good support from them today when I moved the service to a 2008R2 server and it was falling over on a Jet 4 issue. Thought that it would be the end, the only option would be to upgrade to .net but they knew the issue, talked me through and all sorted.

 

We were burned by .Net in its early days, had to deal with a horribly slow system & that is the only reason we haven't upgraded yet but we have it in our plans to do so soon.

comparitivly accessit runs on a postgre SQL server on any OS and has not really caused us any issues, the one time we needed to send the db away for recovery was when a dirty Intel raid cofing messed it. This was back the next day in working order. The one proviso is that they use the old stable version rather than the new one but it still works and updates fine on or 2008 r2 server.

 

Good web access service and everything. It is defiantly not perfect but compared to some of our other software it is a dream.

 

If only they could get rid of their tech hate in their training.

Yep we use Heritage as well! the guys there really know the system. must say though were holding off the Serco update till more userrs have made the move!
