Mac Server Workgroup Manager issue

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys;

I'm afraid I'm not a Mac Expert and Music Department needed some help (which normally look after the MACs)

Over summer I did upgrade the AD from 2003 r2 to 2008 r2 and from testing the Mac network the machines can authenticate through AD and be able to see mapped drives that reside on my Windows Fileservers

Asked music to test other parts to ensure 100 percent migration, heard nothing till today when they said that the Workgroup Manager Sharepoint folders can't be accessed by students (since I did the AD Migration...)

I managed to screen share the Mac server and a feel around the settings looks like it's linking to my AD (I suppose it wouldn't let AD users log into a Mac Workstation if it didn't) I aslo modified the DNS entries on the Macserver over summer to ensure it was pointing to the new ones.

I enclose a screenshot of the potential issue when I go into OSX's workgroup manager:

I'm back to the Mac ICT room tomorrow so happy to provide more info if needed.

You can check this and rebind by going to System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options and then click edit next to Network Account Server. (That's the way to get to in Snow Leopard, may have changed in later releases).
