I've found the Netgear 834v4 to be quite good with a PPPoE connection from a pfsense alix box. It's quite good with long lines as it has the broadcom chipset, and also has an unsupported ADSL modem only mode, leaving the router to do all the connections.

 

Just make sure your connection has PPPoE as it doesn't work with PPPoA.

 

A version 3 box had issues broadcasting all it's internet traffic out over a second connection to the router (for management, first is PPPoE link) for all the other machines to see!
