i know i just wish there was another way as i know how much i hate being sniped so i really dont like sniping others and wish there was anoter way

The most irritating thing about it for me is there's no fun in it! I know that somewhat defies the point, but I used to love placing my top bid, waiting to see if anyone placed higher and then debating whether to go a little more (I inevitably did most of the time!). Now you've either got to place your absolute top bid that you will not go above or snipe yourself for a bargain.

 

For instance, I thought I'd found a gem the other day - a mint condition boxed copy of Zelda on NES, had 15 minutes to go and was at £4.20! So I put in my bid of £30 (yeah, optimistic!) and was top bidder at £4.00, watched the clock count down with excitement, then BAM! with 20 seconds to go the price suddenly rocketed up past the £60 mark!

which is why i seldom use ebay if its not a buy it now. Forget the fun factor its just frustrating

I tend to use Amazon and look for the used versions of the thing I want on there these days. They are almost always cheaper and you know who is selling them!
