laptop issues black screen

afternoon guys

 

 

 

not to sure where to post this , so feel free to move to correct section

 

 

 

anyway

 

 

i have had 3 laptops here all Toshiba all with blank screen on startup

 

fans starts a few secs then cuts off, hdd can be heard.

 

 

i also have a toshiba netbook , which i striped to check the GPu etc, im at a lost

 

 

can someone help

tried an external display/usb KB/mouse?

sorry , yes i have connected it up to a external monitor, tried another hdd etc.

do you get any sniff of the bios screen to indicate life?

is it worth removing the HDD (if possible) and CD drive, battery and trying off mains?

no life what so ever, tried holding down the start button for 30 secs etc, removed battery, ive been googling this issue about 6 months

 

 

funny how its all on Toshiba brands

Are they under any kind of warranty? I reckon they are proper dead.

 

If you are not under any kind of warranty, it might be worth taking the MB out, removing anything plastic from it so you just have a bare board and trying the old 'bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees' trick. If I understand your situation correctly, you have nothing to lose!

tried that too, burnt my hands over it. gpu might need reballed, but im not spending 100 to find out.

then quite frankly, call the WEEE guys, call a therapist and try to forget you ever owned them.
