[closed] misc: Fonts on Edugeek pages look 'blocky' and indistinct...

Title says it all really...

 

When I view the latest posts page all the bold headings look over aliased and fuzzy around the edges.

 

I usually am viewing through Chrome, trying IE8 was not significantly different but Firefox is better...

 

Does anybody have a clever fix or will I have to give in and start using Firefox when I visit Edugeek if I can't put up with the fuzzy text?

Looks fine to me... I use IE, Firefox and chrome. Could try changing your screen resolution or try zooming in or out on web page...

 

If all that fails - try Specsavers?

I have just found that if I use the developer tools in Chrome to switch off the css for the post headings then they display fine as plain sans-serif (or that's what it looks like at least).

 

I will check the fonts installed on my computer to see if there is a problem with any of the family that the page uses...

OK I found the cause...

 

The first font in the css family list was Helvetica...and I just happened to have a PS type 1 version installed that only some browsers were using...I have uninstalled the font and the Edugeek pages look lovely once more

Is ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/webfont/1/webfont.js blocked for you?

I am wondering if your not loading the font js properly.

Removing the Type 1 Helvetica font has done the trick...I guess Chrome has some sort of problem with Adobe fonts...can't say I am surprised!
