Enale drive mapping gpo

Hi All,

 

what a start to the new term! anyone know where i can enable drive mapping via gpo on server 2008r2 ? looking through my policy's and cant seem to see it!

You can map drives using GPP

 

User Configuration > Preferences > Drive Maps

 

Just make sure if you change the Action to create instead of update if the drive doesn't exist beforehand.

 

also you can create and use .bat/.vbs files as a logon script to do drive mappings.

 

once created go to the following location in group policy to add them as logon scripts.

User Configuration > Windows settings > scripts > logon

Thanks for your help but I want users to be able to be able to add drives adhoc as they need to. We use gp to push out the std mappings.

 

Crust can't seem to find the tick box to ad/ remove the mapping button

There's a policy called "Remove Map Network Drive and Disconnect Network Drive" set this to disabled

 

its located in

 

User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Windows Explorer
