Typing Tutor Software

Hi,

 

Was this the best Typing Tutor software on the market. I have heard of Mavis Beacon, but hear it is very Amercian based etc.

 

Any recommendations?

Im assuming your after one aimed at a higher age audience? Not sure for that one but the younger kids love Tux Typing which is free.

We have Mavis here cant remember which version had it a couple of years all years love it.

Can you save students progress to there network profile on these products?

I have a copy of KAZ Typing Tutor which I got from my OU course. I believe it is paid for - the OU must have some sort of license. But there is a 100 user online version available on the website for a school or such like. You might like to check it out

With our version of Mavis yes it has an option of a network install which we use and then staff can monitor the progress of the kids.

We looked at loads of these recently - ended up going for the free one on BBC. It is a bit kiddy-ish in it's design, all bright colours and talking crocodiles, but the older students responded well to it, too.

 

We looked at Kaz which can record progress, but decided against the cost (also, our younger students, i.e. primary-aged, seemed to take to the BBC one quicker).
