I'm trying to get my budget together for next year and would like to put some shiny, new thin clients as an option since I've setup the infrastructure already for them. (currently running 30+ old reconfigured machines)

I'm curious what everyone uses for their hardware? I've seen some HP, Wyse, Axel thin clients online but not sure how they perform in an education environment.

I like the look of Axel's tiny clients but can't get anyone to get back to me about NZ distributors/pricing. I've also considered using Raspberry pi's but have zero experience with them and what it would take to make them boot off pxe.

so...thoughts anyone?

There is a VMware View client which runs on the Raspberry pi if that's what you are trying to achieve (installed to sd card). If not I have had good experiences using HP TC using Windows 7 Embedded. The only wyse terminals I had used there own custom OS which I thought was awful.
