Resolution changes between administrator and domain user

We have recently bought some new machines (now with a fresh XP image on) which are attached to Hanns-g ha191 monitors via DVI. The problem is that when we set a 1024x768 resolution on the Administrator account and then swith to a domain user, windows switches to the native 1280x1024 resolution on the screen.

 

We have tried turning off DDC/DI on the monitor, wasn't sure if this would be affecting it, but turning it off didn't help.

 

The reason why I put this in the Windows forum is because I have seen something to do with the registry via a quick google search but am a bit stumped.

 

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?
