Louis Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 We're running Exchange 2010, SP2. We have a user running Outlook 2010 (like all our staff) who is prompted for a username and password on a very regular basis when using Outlook. It doesn't matter whether they enter this information or not, it doesn't actually stop them being able to send or recieve new emails, but it is incrediably annoying being prompted all the time for said info. We had similar behaviour in Outlook 2007 and for the most part the upgrade to 2010 solved the issue, expect for this user who is a new starter. Now, I've looked on Edugeek and the interwebs in general and despite there being simply hundreds of potential solutions, none seem to have any effect. Hoping someone might be able to help me out!
MatthewL Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 What operating system, is it XP? Do you have a Windows 7 machine you can try it on? Is your Exchange server internal as I have a similar issue and have a fix dependent on the above answers.
glennda Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 this is something to do with incorrect DNS entries for auto discover I believe.
DrPerceptron Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 What method are you using for Logon Password Security for the user with problems - is it the same as everyone else?
sukh Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 How are you connecting RPC or HTTPS? When prompted what is OLK trying to connect to, normally shows you the server name in the dialogue, if you can post a pic, that would be good. Any cached credentials? Also test autodicover and all the URL's OLK would use.
