Alerting staff about their password expiration

Hi,

 

I have a Server 2003/2008 network. I have a small problem that some staff on laptops do not know when their networked password has expired. These laptops are non-domain and connect to our wireless network to access network resources.

 

Is there anyway that you can alert staff with an e-mail or desktop message?

Local Password policy built into Windows - not sure never done it on a stand alone machine.

I've got a nifty little script I found from Technet you can run as a scheduled task, it sends a reminder 14 days beforehand then nags and nags every day for the last 10 days before expiry. Needed it due to OWA 2007 not handling expired passwords too well. If you want it I'll dig it out...

@GHSaw it is been fixed in 2010 SP1 in OWA. No good if your on 2010 but might be worth knowing
