tj2419 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Hi Is there a free and easy way to scan a school cc4 network and see what software is installed and how many copies are installed across the whole network. E.g. so i would know we had 450 copies of office installed across the school? I have tried spice works but i cannot get the software numbers to work correctly as the numbers only show about 4 licenses when i know there is a lot more. Also can't get the network map feature to work but thats another issue Thanks
Mcshammer_dj Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 spiceworks should be able to audit a total lan for hardware and software

Obviosuly this won't bring up any local installs of software that you've done.
tj2419 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 spiceworks should be able to audit a total lan for hardware and software How do you have your scan setup? DO you use ip ranges? or domain etc? Also i get a lot of machines returned saying failed to scan possibly due to ports not being open but the network all uses the same image :S Cheers
chazzy2501 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 it can take weeks for spiceworks to pickup all the machines. After 6 months now machines still popup.
