Good Morning,

we run a dual operating system network with Windows 7 and windows xp everything is done via GPO's

When a student logs into a windows XP machine they cannot change the volume of headphones as they are denied access in control panel.

does anybody have any ideas of where to look or start to try and figure out the access for this.

Thanks

Can't they just do it via the volume controls on the taskbar?

Allowing access to the control panel to allow volume control seems like using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

Rather than giving the pupils here access to contol panel, I have disabled them being able to use anything on the taskbar, I created a shotcut to the sound and volume controls on their redirected desktops. The shortcut is too c:\windows\system32\sndvol.exe I believe.
