Morning, we have this installed on our desktops, and tyhe problem we have is: The media Cache files folder within App data is writing back to student profiles and the size ranges from 200mb-700mb in size. I have been told the program has been installed without looking at file paths, this may be true but i did not install it. Is there a way of correcting this issue? Thanks James

I beleive we are using roaming profiles. The profile sizes range from 30mb-800mb, and at log off it takes around 5 mins per student, maybe longer at lesson change over. Where can set the GPO to remove local profiles. I have stopped Temp Internet profiles writing back to the profile and server at log off. Is there anything we can do? the issue is getting worse Thanks James

Morning, we have having majoe issues with profiles and that when the students login and out they are taking forever, also the profiles are storing locally on each machine they use. Is there aomething we can do to stop this and also to wipe them from the machine? Thanks in advance James

Anyone can help with blocking certian files writing back to the system in students profiles, can you write such a thing as an exclude list? Thanks

we also use Adobe CS5 for Media purposes, and the profiles are also copying back the Media Cache, which is 700mb at times, is there a can write that out of the student profiles?

yes it does copy back appdata\local part of the profile, and we re-create many profiles here, as many students also lose desktop shortscuts that are set by us. I am now going to change the temp internet files Thanks

Thanks for the replys, yes i will look atr gpos, i have 1 question. We use Bloxx web filtering and it monitors and stores the webpages of a user, my worry is that if they empty temp internet files on closing of browser will it cause issues with bloxx (im thinking not) We use IE8 Thanks

Morning, i have come across a problem in that our students profiles are storing there temp internet files and these are up to 500mb. Problem is the students are taking a long time to log off. Any help would be great? Thanks in advance James

Thanks for the reply's. So i have enabled offlines files and it tells me to restart the machine, this has no effect. So done some research and i needed to create a reg key to "format the CSC Database" Which i did but on reboot the machine then done a psyhical memory dump and i had to restore the machine to an earlier state Hope someone can help Thanks

Afternoon, I have a laptop that is windows 7 64-bit. Sync centre does not allow me to create a new sync partnership. I have made the user a local administrator. I have enabled the option on the Local Machine to allow offline files. Even if i login as administrator i cannot use sync center. All other laptops work fine, the only difference with this one is that a VPN is setup on the machine and not sure if that has an affect but it is not always connected. Please Help Thanks James Tidd

We have a bunch of netbooks that are causing our windows 7 profiles to currupt. I have a netbook in front of me and a profile has failed to write back because: Windows cannot copy file \\?\UNC\ova-file2\profiles$\students\08MillerS.V2\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\KYZVMHFE\http://www.flickr.com\ to location \\?\C:\Users\08millers\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\KYZVMHFE\http://www.flickr.com\. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights. DETAIL - The specified network name is no longer available. These errors are appearing but with different websites attached. The user has full access to his profile and they do not have access to write to the C: Drive. Any help please? Thanks James

Morning, All of a sudden our students are having issues with there profiles, in that they login a recieve a blank desktop and no programs. We rest the best part of 20-30 profiles a day. I have just run a program called win dir stat on our student profiles and seen that 80% are over 200mb, and this is caused by Temp Internet Files. How do i find out if we are using a roaming or Mandatory profile? Can anyone give me any help on how to start solving this issue Thanks in advance James

i have A VPN Connection setup on a windows 7 x64 laptop and i cannot use sync centre as the option is not available? I have it in the same OU as another laptop of the same model and the other laptop works fine. I have run gpresult /h on both laptops and there is no difference. Do you think it could be the VPN? thanks for this and i have compared 2 HTML from the same laptops in the same OU and nothing is different. The only difference i can think of is the laptop that does not have the sync option available is that there is a VPN connection setup, but they connect and dissconnect from this when need be?
