Hi Please can someone help.

We are getting random prints from 2 of our OKi B6250 printer and I cannot find what causing it. The printer appear to work ok but staff are complaining it prints a strange sheet.

I have updated the firmware. I have also spoken to oki and they think dont know.

I suspect a program but I have not idea. I have spoken to the students in the room when they have come out and no one is missing prints but they think they might have been in publisher 2010 but cannot even confirm that.

So Richard. The oki printer is printing correctly but every now and then it is self generating what looks to be a specific test print out?

Something is generating the print but I have no idea what?

I have asked teachers and students to show me when it happens but they cannot reproduce it.

I have asked around here and somebody might have a solution, i'll keep you posted.

I do remember having a simular issue with a oki printer always ending a print job with tens of pages with numbers. I later found out it was the driver. Strangely the driver had worked fine for around a year, then suddenly one day this problem happened. Have you downloaded the latest drivers? or changed driver type?

i would check the oki site to see if there is a newer version.

Do you not have a printer/copier company that looks after all your devices. They should be solving this issue

We had a dell 1710 printer do something similar and it turned out to be the fact the printer driver allowed double sided duplex printing but the printer did not have the paper feed mechanism to do this , so it would print a big arrow asking you to put paper in this way to print second side. It Might be something similar if you have updated drivers.

Thanks I will ask the teachers to check if students are trying to double side on the printer as its a single side printer.

Hi

The teachers have finally shown my technician when it happens. They are in publishers 2010 and are printing double sided prints from publisher on a single sided printers. This is the print out to show the user which way up to put the paper.

Has anyone else got this problem and do you have a way to deal with it. I have looked in the group policy settings of office and cannot see any settings.

Thanks for all your help.
