Its fun because Carreon and his wife have actually broken defamation laws several times now... Compared to Inman, who hasn't as yet broken any laws.

I'm getting a bit scared now. I'd like to pass comment regarding my opinions on the behaviour of a certain lawyer and his spouse but in so doing he will probably track me down and sue me. So I won't. This is out of control and completely insane. It's like watching a multi-car pile-up - you really don't want to and you know it's devestating and horrific but you can't take your eyes off it. I just hope to hell that some judge somewhere says 'Enough is enough' and dismisses the petition, orders FunnyJunk to remove or properly credit The Oatmeal source on all Oatmeal works on the site, and disciplines this lawyer on the grounds of bringing the profession into disrepute or something. Bring it to an end. PLEASE. All the Oatmeal wanted was proper credit for his work - that's not unreasonable.

Carreon claims victory, drops his lawsuit against The Oatmeal et al. | Ars Technica

Riiiiiight... sure you won sweetcheeks. Whatever helps you sleep at night, 'kay?

The last sentence of the article sums it up. He gained notoriety from this.

The editors picked reader comment below that article is great in very much Oatmeal style

Sounds like Carreon went to the War of 1812 School of Victory Definition.

1) Invade foreign nation.

2) Meet unexpected resistance.

3) Gain new enemies, but no new territory.

4) Retreat.

5) Declare victory.

I think the best thing about the Internet is The Crazy make it nice and obvious so everyone can avoid them (or poke them with sticks, as appropriate).

Imagine how useful that would be in real life? You're walking down the street and see a cute MOTAS, but there's a big sign floating above them saying "Warning, shaves neighbourhood cats to make tea cosies".

"Warning, shaves neighbourhood cats to make tea cosies".

And what, pray tell, is wrong with that?

I'm wondering whether the tea cosies are made from the fur or from the bald-cat. The latter would be a bit offputting. Not sure I could comfortably drink a cuppa from a pot that was sat under this

The thieves. The thieves. The filthy little thieves. Where is it? Where is it? They stole it from us. My precious. Curse them. We hates them. It’s ours, it is, and we wants it.

LeBoyfriend is allergic to cats and we're getting a kitten. When I was growing up my dad had the same problem until we got two kittens, after that he was fine - apparently if they grow from kittenhood people that were allergic grow out of it or are no longer allergic to that cat so we're hoping the same applies to LeBoyfriend. I threatened to get a Sphynx but he called them 'Nasty hairless rats' and claimed it was 'unnatural'. So I said 'we get a kitten or a sphynx'. I collect Enzo on 21st July :D
