Hi everyone

I'm after people thoughts and opinions....

I'm looking at getting a new laptop as my current one is now 5-6 year old and is just starting to go wrong so I think it's time for a new one, my current laptop is running Ubuntu 10.4 - I'm wondering whether i should stick with a laptop and use Ubuntu 12 OR grab myself a Macbook!!!! The laptop I'm looking at is an I3 with 6GB Ram and 500GB Hard Disk etc.....

I think I'm gonna stick with Ubuntu - What would be your choice ?

My choice - Something with AMD Trinity/Llano as I'd want to do some light gaming on it, but not spend a fortune, combined with an SSD. That would obviously need Windows for best results.

As a pure work machine - something tough, light and powerful. i3 at least, though there are some good deals out there on i5 machines. Plenty of RAM is a given. Still SSD, as I wouldn't consider anything else unless it has two bays. Windows 7 or any Linux flavour would go well together.

I wouldn't go for a Mac, just because of the price. Recently bought some new MBPs though in school, which are nice. Cost a fortune.

Most new netbooks with Ubuntu on them fly! I would go for a Samsung or Asus netbook with Ubuntu on them for portability, efficiency and stability.
