Impero on a non domain laptop

Quick question as an Impero newbie

 

My laptop is not on the domain, but I want to run impero on it to remote into machines (Im in the middle of setting up a new network so havent joined any domains!) Is there a way to do this? I have tried putting the laptop name and my local username on the impero console.

Hi Matt

 

Think Alex emailed you back via support but shouldn't have any issue but you can set the IP address manually in the file serverip.txt which located in the same place as the Impero client is installed to. However if not there then just create the text file and add the IP address.

Working fine here using Windows 8 CP (non-domain). Just put the name of the PC into the console access rights and that was it.

 

I am only using 3116 at the moment still.

Hmm, I have done all this, and I believe it is finding the server - but it is still not letting my laptop see the console, it tells me my laptop name and username, both I have put into the console on the server. Any ideas?

Out of interest, we appear to be licensed for 10 consoles, but have more specified in the list - could this be the cause, or is it concurrent?

I believe they're concurrent as every workstation can be a console. I also think workstation licenses are concurrent as we had something like 800/1400 when we switched from XP to Windows 7.

Licenses are concurrent so can run up to 10 consoles anywhere on the site where the Impero client is installed. Hi Matt as for details I will send over an email in a few..

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I want to in install the Impero client on my Mac machine that isn't joined to the domain is there an easy way to do this? Our Impero Server is on Windows Server 2012 R2 for reference
