I'd go nuts with this Diversion...

 

A82 Highland - A82 closed, delays of one hour and stop-start traffic in both directions between the A86 junction in Spean Bridge and the A830 junction in Fort William, because of a serious accident. Diversion in operation - Southbound via A86, A889 to meet A9 at Drumochter, continue South to Perth, A85 to Crianlarich to rejoin A82 and continue North to Fort William, and vice versa for Northbound traffic. This diversion is around 190 miles long. Congestion on A830 to Kinlocheil.

Is no one cleaver enough to work out that you needs some other technique and that a 190 diversion is unacceptable no matter what happened!!!

I suspect that to "Cleaver enough" all you need is a good strong arm swing

 

The problem with Fort William, is that there is literally 1 road in and 1 road out... You can't really put another road in due to Mountains and the Sea!
