Retail Windows 7 & EES

If I build some PCs and use Retail (not OEM) copies of Windows 7 am I entiltled to change the hardware as I see fit (i.e. the Mainboard) and still use the EES to upgrade to Enterprise?

Yes I would of thought. Retail does allow you to change the mainboard, but it is considerably more expensive than OEM. As for upgrading to Enterprise, yes this also would be allowed as you require either 7 Pro Retail or OEM.

 

If you changed the mainboard with Enterprise installed, you'd just need to make sure you don't go over your license allocation.
