Dos_Box Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I've just been doing some looking up and have found that as Microsoft are a signatory to the Safe Harbour agreement it should be fine for you users to use this free storage in much the same way as they do with DropBox. Unless anyone knows differant?

And of course you can still go to SkyDrive.com from your phone’s browser. Fetch files: Forgot to put a file in your SkyDrive folder? You can access any file stored on your PC running Windows from SkyDrive.com. Increased upload sizes: Now you can upload and share files up to 2 GB. 3. What happens if I don’t upgrade my storage? Will I lose my stuff? No. In the new SkyDrive, everyone gets 7 GB of free storage. If you were using close to this amount before the latest update, we’ve automatically upgraded your storage already . That article is olllld - Mesh and Sync are now all part of the same thing, I can imagine everything will come under SkyDrive pretty soon.

scottpowers82 Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Thanks for the heads up. Hadn't used my SkyDrive account in a long long time. I just went in and reset it so that I stay at 25GB instead of the 7GB. Plus, now that you can upload a file that is 2GB in size, I'll definitely be using this more instead of my Dropbox (not that I'd get rid of my drop box though either)...always nice having extra space in the cloud...
HMCTech Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Just finished uploading 18gb of photos which took 9 days and now its pulling them all down on my home and work PC. Ooops at least we dont have an acceptable use at school.

Can anyone remember last time MS released an application for a linux based system? I know they made some kernel contributions, with some obligatory sexist 'boobs' in the comments - but I don't recall an actual app (skype doesn't count, it was released before the acquisition).

There's OneNote Mobile (released earlier this year), a Lync 2010 client, Bing and on{X}. For UNIX-based operating system's made by Apple there is Office 2011, and other Linux'y stuff can be found on their Port 25 website.

You could also use a real copy of Microsoft Office remotely via CloudOn, SplashTop, PocketCloud or VMware WSX (included with Workstation 9). Even more off-topic, why does Google prevent me from buying the tablet version of QuickOffice? So annoying (especially considering they now own the app)! http://i.imgur.com/I5P7v.png
