Just heard that Cumbria IT Services (CIT) can no longer offer IT support to schools in Cumbria!

 

This has now been taken over by One Connect

 

is this true?

I've had a letter through saying CLEO services (Broadband, remote access etc) are through One Connect now, everything else remains with Cumbria (So web hosting, email, antivirus, filtering etc) as far as I can remember. Not quite sure where Moodle fits it though....

When I phoned CICT yesterday I was told that all they could do was advise me as one connect had phoned up earlier that morning and revoked all their access to schools.

Just read my letter again - Moodle, Mahara etc fall under CLEO services.

Hi all,

Thought I might as well post something on here before rumours get out of hand...

 

Schools will have received a letter from One Connect Limited informing them that they now provide support for CLEO services. Such as

• Moodle

• Connectivity

• Remote Access

• Video Conferencing

 

To report issues with these services you will now need to contact One Connect Ltd directly on 0845 053 0006.

 

I would like to confirm that the services included in the Cumbria ISP Package continue to be provided by Cumbria County Council Schools ICT Helpdesk (CICT.org.uk) these services include:

 

• E-mail

• Web Filtering

• DNS

• Anti-virus

• Website Hosting

• Content Management System (CMS for school websites)

• WSUS
