Only needs to power a HP ML115 G5, HP MicroServer, AirPort Extreme and a HP 1800-24G for a very short time.

Only needs to be good enough for monetary power outages. We keep having short power outages of less than 1 second, 2 last night within 5-10 mins, don't think it is doing my DC's much good. Happen about once a month.

I like the APC range from experience :-). Looking at a Back-UPS Pro range, prob a 550.

I would like to that that any managed UPS (with link to shut ur server down before it dies) would be suited for say 5-20mins extended run time.

maybe (i cannot endorse from experience) Trust 1300VA Management UPS PW-4130M: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

As the ML115 and MicroServer are runnning ESXi with numerous Virtual guests are there any options to say shutdown the guests if power to the UPS has being lost for over a specified time (i.e. wouldn't want the virtual servers shutting down if poer was only lost for a couple of seconds.

I have a Back-UPS ES 700, which provides battery backup for a server and switch and filtered power for a bunch of other stuff. It's never given me any trouble in the five years or so I've had it.

Good question - I could imagine you can script them as a 'shutdown script' which would be run only when a shutdown was invoked, not sure to tell you the truth.
