oalcock Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Help! Need to get this working in HP DC 5750 machine - does anybody know if the PCI is disabled by default in the bios? I can't find any settings that are relevant in BIOS. The card isn't picked up by the hardware manager, we have sent the card back and had it replaced so we know it's not that. The internal VGA card works but we need this new card to enable dual screen as we all use dual screens in the office but at the moment one person can't use her dual screen set up at the moment hence us trying to get this working. Thanks.
3s-gtech Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 You may have to disable the onboard VGA in the BIOs, though that's not usually necessary. It could be that it's not getting disabled, and Init Display First is set to Onboard in the BIOS so the PCI-E card is never showing. 1

3s-gtech Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Just that setting - 'Init Display First'. Each BIOS can be different, so it's tricky to pinpoint. I have a large range of HPs here but they all seem to vary. Could be under 'Hardware', 'Settings', Integrated Devices', etc etc. Can you screengrab the BIOS?
RageRiot Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 most BIOS's will use a card that you have inserted to at least display the boot/post and bios it's self. do you get this far or no video at all from this card? in the BIOS it's uually under init display, default adapter, primary display interface etc. usually found under advanced chipset settings.
